pink blossoms Don’t miss the March 23, 2013 poetry reading at the Blossom Festival in Saratoga, with Los Gatos Poet Laureate Erica Goss & Friends, at the Warren Hutton House near Saratoga Civic Center.

Readers include: Parthenia Hicks, Nils Peterson, Erica Goss, and myself.

Check the EVENTS page for details regarding the time and duration of the poetry reading.

The Blossom Festival originated in 1900 as a celebration of the end of a two-year drought and the resulting beauty of the blossoming orchards. Dr. Edwin Sidney Williams, a retired minister, came up with the idea of the event. The event was so successful it was held each year for the next 40 years—growing larger and larger and reaching 20,000 attendees one year.

The Saratoga Historical Foundation will produce The Blossom Festival on March 23 from 10am to 4pm at the Saratoga Civic Center and Heritage Orchard. The day-long event has something for everyone and is free. Program details at www.saratogahistory.com
